Boy Scout Troop 125 held a penut butter and jelly drive after Hurricane Sandy.

Commack Boy Scout Troop 125 was honored with a Proclamation from the Town of Huntington Tuesday night for its impressive collection of 903 pounds of peanut butter and jelly for donation after Hurricane Sandy.

Following the storm, the scouts held a peanut butter and jelly drive at the Commack King Kullen and ShopRite stores Dec. 8. Within six hours, the boys collected the 903 pounds of peanut butter and jelly, which was donated to Commack United Methodist Church’s Peanut Butter and Jelly Gang.

The church's Peanut Butter and Jelly Gang meets on the first Saturday of every month to make more than a thousand 1,000 sandwiches which are delivered to St. Anne’s Church in Brentwood and distributed to the needy on Long Island.
