Crimes Nearby: Fatal Shooting in Huntington Station

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Suffolk County police reported the following information:

Huntington Station

A Huntington Station man died after being shot in the head at a local deli Saturday.

Michael Fredericks, 26, died at Huntington Hospital after the shooting at Los Compas Deli, located at 161 Depot Rd. in Huntington Station at about 10:18 p.m., according to police.

Before police arrived at the scene, the victim was transported to the hospital were he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, according to police.

Northport

Wayne Anderson, 38, of East Northport was arrested on Feb. 1 after police found him hitchhiking in the middle of the road, seemingly under the influence of a substance other than alcohol. A search revealed that he was in possession of seven different types of prescription medication, having a prescription for only two kinds at the time of the search.

Smithtown

Reena Rashid, 25, of Islip, was arrested in Smithtown on charges of filing false business records. Rashid, an employee of a precious metal exchange located at 591 Nesconset Highway in Smithtown, allegedly intentionally omitted an entry documenting a bracelet purchase.

Jason Faraone, 37, or Ronkonkoma, was arrested in Smithtown at the intersection of Route 347 and Route 111 on charges of altering a document or plate and third degree possession of a forged instrument. Faraone allegedly altered the license plate on a 1998 Buick to look like another number.

Christopher Pace, 25, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested in Smithtown on third degree false report charges. Pace allegedly reported he had been robbed.

Hauppauge

Two armed robbers broke into the new Dunkin Donuts in Hauppauge’s Motor Parkway Plaza on Feb. 4. Suffolk County police said two black men came into the store, openly displaying a black hand gun. The robbers took cash from Dunkin Donut's register and an employee's cell phone, according to police. The suspects then fled the store in an unknown direction.

Omer Ergun, 20, of Nesconset, was arrested Feb. 1 in Smithtown on fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property charges. Ergun was allegedly in possession of a mobile pre music box.

Three Village

A homeless man was arrested Jan. 29 in Stony Brook and charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Calvin Daniels, 20, allegedly stole a car – a 2006 Mercury – and had a stolen cell phone in his possession when he was arrested.

Jiyoung Yoon, 22, of Stony Brook, was arrested Jan. 27 in Stony Brook and charged with second-degree harassment. She allegedly punched a police officer at around 2 a.m. on the roadway at the corner of Route 347 and Stony Brook Road.
