Back to School Kickoff Party; Business and School Partnerships

A look at what's coming up this week in Commack.

Now, on to what's happening this week...

Join a Back to School Kickoff Party Wednesday at the Commack branch of the Smithtown Public Library (3 Indian Head Rd., Commack) at 7:15 p.m.  The event is an interactive workshop for parents and students with keynote speaker Gail Feldman, a senior drug educator for Suffolk County Health Department Division of Community Mental Hygiene Services. The workshop will discuss how and why humor creates happiness, which keeps people healthy; how to reframe thoughts, refresh spirits and rejuvenate one's body and five secrets to living a happy healthy life.

Thursday is the Commack School-Business Partnership Kick-off. Businesses work with students by participating in classroom workshops, career fairs, presentations, internships, job shadowing, field trips and other projects. The first meeting is at 4 p.m. at the

In sports, the Commack High School boys soccer team will take on William Floyd at William Floyd at 4 p.m. Thursday. The girls soccer team will verse Longwood Friday at 4 p.m. Go cougars!
