Commack Residents Casting Ballots Today

Schools will also be closed Tuesday for a staff conference.

Commack residents will cast their votes today to decide on their local legislators.

Voters will choose the town supervisor, town board members, town clerk superintendent of highways and Suffolk County legislators.

A complete guide to today's election for those living in the Town of Smithtown, can be found here. Those living in the Town of Huntington, can get a summary of the candidates here.

This election year is a bit different than in those past, due to redistricting of the County legislative lines. Based on the results of the 2010 U.S. Census, the Suffolk County legislature underwent a redistricting that will bring several changes in the Town of Smithtown and Town of Huntington areas. Here's a look at what has changed.

In addition to choosing local leaders, voters will also decide if the state should allow up to seven non-Indian casinos to be built. Click here to see if you are registered, and find out where to vote.
