Applebee's Raises a Cool $4 Million for Alex's Lemonade Stand

Applebee's announced a record $735,000 in funds raised in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation during 2013 and more than $4 million raised since 2005.

This year, more than 700 restaurants nationwide, including 22 Applebee’s on Long Island, among them Commack, contributed to the effort to help cure pediatric cancer. Applebee’s franchisees have supported Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for the past nine years.

On Long Island and in New Jersey, Doherty Enterprises, franchisees of the local Applebee’s restaurants, in their own great effort, squeezed out nearly $63,000 to help support ALSF. A portion of the sale of each lemonade sold during the four week initiative along with generous purchases of “paper lemons” by restaurant guests added up to a substantial contribution to the fight against childhood cancer.
