10 Places to Celebrate Midnight Mass

Here is a sampling of churches in and around Commack that have late-night services on Christmas Eve.

Looking to welcome in Christmas at midnight mass at a local church?  Even if you aren't willing to stay up quite that late, we have a selection of ten nearby churches that have late-night services between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m.  If you know of other churches with late Christmas Eve hours, feel free to login and post them in the comments section.

1. Christ the King Church:  One can enjoy midnight mass, as well as 11 p.m. Christmas readings and carols on Christmas Eve at this Roman Catholic church at 2 Indian Head Road in Commack.

2. St. Francis of Assisi:  If you can't stay up too late for midnight mass, attend an earlier 10 p.m mass at this Catholic church located at 29 Northgate Drive in Greenlawn.

3. St. Patrick's Church: Head over to St. Pat's Roman Catholic Church at 280 East Main Street in Smithtown.  Stop by early to enjoy a special presentation by the choir at 11:20 p.m.

4. Saint Anthony of Padua:  Join other families from Commack, Northport, East Northport, and Greenlawn for Catholic Christmas Eve services at 20 Cheshire Place, East Northport.

5.  Commack United Methodist Church:  This church doesn't quite have a midnight service, but does offer an 11p.m. candlelight service in the sanctuary.

6. Calvary Lutheran Church:  This Lutheran Church also offers a slightly earlier candlelight mass at 11 p.m. at 860 Town Line Road in Happauge.

7. Smithtown United Methodist Church: For another 11 p.m. candlelight service, head to 230 Middle Country Road in Smithtown.

8. First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown:  Enjoy preaching, carols, choirs, and communion in the sanctuary at 11 p.m. at 175 East Main Street in Smithtown.

9.  First Presbyterian Church of Northport:  If Smithtown is out of your way, take a ride to Northport for a candlelight service at 11 p.m. at 330 Main Street in Northport.

10. Saint Thomas of Canterbury Church:  This Episcopal church in Smithtown offers an earlier Christmas Eve mass at 10 p.m.
