5 Events to Hit This Holiday Weekend

Attend a car show to benefit Ronald McDonald's House or watch the annual Memorial Day Parade.

 


Relive the music of this childhood classic as produces The Sound of Music this Memorial Day weekend with shows at 2 p.m Saturday. Tickets are  $17 - $22 for general admission, $15 - $19 for Y members. 


Help the in Smithtown with its annual turtle count by locating, tagging the Eastern Box Turtles that call Sweet Briar home on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be a presentation on Long Island turtles and a craft project for children. Helper are advised to wear pants and closed-toe shoes.

Car lovers of all ages are invited to to view cars, trucks, motorcycles and the 1966 Batmobile, 1989 Batmobile to help raise funds for the Ronald McDonald's House on Sunday from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. The car show is open to all who wish to compete, with registration cutoff at 10:30 a.m. 


Celebrate the holiday by honoring local veteras at Commack's annual Memorial Day Parade, hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars #9263 Elwood-Commack. The parade steps off from at 10 a.m. and heads east along Jericho Turnpike to the memorial at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Veterans Highway. Time to Hit the Beach
Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, so get out there. Head to  the  or  The best days will be Sunday and Monday with temps around 80 based on early weather predictions.
