#96 - Sunday Brunch at The Bonwit Inn

This local spot has been a Sunday morning staple for 12 years.

Commack is chock-full of great places to eat, but there's only one place where locals flock every week for Sunday brunch: .

Nestled on the corner of Vanderbilt Parkway and Commack Road, The Bonwit Inn has been serving the community since the 1970's, and families have been gathering every Sunday for their famous brunch for more than a decade.

They know their brunch rocks, and they're not shy about it, either—anyone who drives down Commack Road and sees the large sign on the side of the building that reads "Best Brunch in Long Island" will tell you.

What's earned them such bragging rights? For beginners, their sprawling, all-you-can-eat Continental brunch offers pretty much anything your heart (and stomach) desires, whether its Belgian waffles or crispy fried calamari.

Hot and cold buffets have the quintessential breakfast staples, including fresh omelets, bacon, sausage and home fries. Those wishing to stretch the "lunch" in their brunch can pile their plates high with crab, smoked salmon, eggplant rollatini, baked clams and penne ala vodka.

While $21.95 per person may seem a bit steep for the first meal of the day, it buys you three hours of unlimited all-you-can eat glory, which is priceless, in our opinion. And what brunch would be complete without a complimentary Mimosa or Bloody Mary?

The Inn also serves up full lunch, dinner and catering menus, so anytime is the perfect time to stop in and experience this Commack landmark.
