Commack Boy Scout Leader Receives Merit Award

Alan Morris, of Commack, was chosen as the Matinecock District's Merit Award recipiant.

A Commack Boy Scout leader received honors and recognitions for his ability to leader and inspire his troops. 

The Matinecock District of the Suffolk County County, Boy Scouts of America hels its annual fellowship dinner and presentation of the Spark Plug and District Awards of Merit recognitions on May 24 at J&R's Steakhouse in Lake Grove. 

The Matinecock District has more than 3,000 youth members in the Town of Huntington, Commack, Kings Park, Hauppauge and western Smithtown.

Among those recognized was Commack resident Alan Morris, Matinecock District Cub Scout Roundtable Staff,  District Training Staff and leader with Boy Scout Troop 403, who received the District Award of Merit. 

Morris was attending with his family including his wife wife Lisa, and children, Star Scout Joshua Morris and Boy Scout Sam Morris to celebrate the occasion.
