Feb. 4 is Girls Basketball, Commack Idol, and Fun For Toddlers
Jumpstart the weekend with a local event.
Don't wait for the calendar to tell you it's the weekend. Start it with one of these fun events.
1. : The girls varsity basketball team hosts Patchogue-Medford. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m. Come down and cheer the girls to victory.
2. : It all comes down to this: the crowning of the new Commack Idol. Come to and vote for your favorite singer. The singing competition starts at 7 p.m.

3. : Just because your toddler only has one candle on their birthday cake doesn't mean they should'nt have a little fun. Bring them to the of the Smithtown Library for a flurry of language-based activities, starting at 10 a.m.
4. : Miss the Commack Cougarettes' Eighth Annual Danceline and Kickline Exhibition over the weekend? We didn't, so stop by and see pictures of the girls kicking, twirling, jumping and dancing for a packed gymnasium.

5. : Three is a wonderful age, full of walking and eating semi-real food and plenty of gibberish. Give your child a place to have a blast at Terrific Threes Storytime. Be at the by 2 p.m.
