From PTA meetings to a chat with a mountain climber, there's an eclectic lineup of events going on around town today.

1. : The PTA will meet today at 9:30 a.m. at . Members of Commack SEPTA will also meet tonight at to discuss the new IEP format. The discussion begins at 7:30 p.m.

3. Climb of His Life: Bob Pospichil, a Nesconset native, has climbed some of the largest mountains in the world, and lived to tell the tale. Join him at the from 7-8:30 p.m. as he discusses his fascinating journey, including his recent attempt to reach the summit of Mt. Everest

4. : Each week, the hosts hands-on art classes for kids of different ages. Children use eggs, beads, rocks and other materials to create one-of-a-kind pieces, while learning art concepts like color, pattern and texture. The class begins at 10:30 a.m. and is open to ages 3 to 5
