Spotlight Event: Is Your Pool Up to Spec?

Suffolk Y JCC is taking part in National Water Safety Month.

 

The number of backyard pool drowning and boating accidents doubles every year in the United States, despite tougher regulations, according to Nancy Briel, Aquatics Director at the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center.

“In an effort to save one life this summer, or prevent one accidental death by water,” says Briel, “the is taking part in National Water Safety Month during the month of May. We will be running free swim classes, lectures, and important lessons for families in an effort to prevent drowning this upcoming summer.”

This Tuesday, May 15th, the Suffolk Y JCC is offering a free program - Is Your Pool Up to Spec?

During this program, experts will discuss current local town codes, legal issues and insurance needs for people with backyard pools.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for May 22nd when from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the topic will be .
