Jan. 9 is Music, Skiing, and Winter Track

Use this Sunday to get active with some of these local events.

Whether you're looking for a lazy Sunday or squeezing out as much action as possible from the weekend, there's plenty to do today in and around Commack.

1. : Join tour guide Nancy Manfedonia for a 3-mile hike through Blydenburgh County Park's historic district. The tour is free and begins at 10 a.m.

2. :  Support the varsity boys winter track team at their crossover meet at Suffolk Community College’s Brentwood Campus today at 4:30 p.m.

3. :  Prolong the holiday spirit with the final show of Home for the Holidays with Patsy Cline at the Ward Melville Heritage Association in Stony Brook.  General admission is $45, and seniors age 60 and over pay $42

4. :  Take advantage of the fresh snow to do some cross-country skiing at Nissequogue River State Park, open from sunrise to sunset.
