Land Cleared For Truck Inspections

The site is across from the Kohl's shopping center on Crooked Hill Road.

A piece of land on Crooked Hill Road in Commack is now cleared for a truck inspection site.

The site, which is next to a farm stand across from the Kohl's shopping center, is planned to open this season.

The inspection site is intended to address police safety concerns regarding commercial motor vehicles, and truck traffic concerns.

There are currently 69,079 registered commercial vehicles in Suffolk, more than any other county, but there is only one official inspection site in place, which is between Exits 65 and 66 off of the westbound side of the LIE.
