Local Volunteer Opportunities Found Online

We've rounded up some groups looking for volunteers in the Commack area.

Volunteering in Commack can be done at a variety of locations, and is a requirement for High School students. If you are looking for even more opportunities, check out these found on volunteermatch.org.

Student Exchange Program
These can be run in Brentwood and surrounding areas, according to the website listing. Run by the Aspect Foundation, these programs match international students with local host families.

Project Heal
Ideal for teenagers, this program is a fundraising project for Project HEAL – a student-created 501(c)3.

Elder Wisdom Circle
Work from home, if you're 60-years-old or better, and give advice to young adults on a variety of life experience situations.

bikeMS Twin Forks ride
The weekend of Sept. 11 and 12, a bike race to support Multiple Sclerosis. Volunteers are needed, with contact information on the site.

You must be 21-years-old or older to volunteer and 5 are needed for day desk positions. They also have additional weekend opportunities.

Guide Dogs for the Blind
The Guide Dog center in Smithtown needs volunteer dog walkers, photographers and groundskeepers.
