May 3: Boating Safety, Mother's Day Card-making and A Food Drive

Support a local Eagle Scout in his mission to collect 500 lbs. of food.

Mother's Day is right around the corner, so take the kids to Michael's to make a hand-crafted card for mom. Then, hit Mayfair and grab some gifts for her. She deserves them, after all.

1. : The best gifts are handmade and come straight from the heart. Take your little one to , where from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., they can make a special Mother's Day card. Ages 3 and up are welcome.

2. : In preparation for summer, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 22-01 is hosting boating safety classes at Half Hollow Hills East High School in Dix Hills. The six-class series is held each Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

3. : Eagle Scout Kevin Chaves is on a mission to rasie 500 lbs. of food to donate to a local food pantry to recently burned down. Help Kevin reach his goal by dropping off non-perishable food items at through May 31.
