Dozens of star-struck locals gathered outside Danford's Hotel and Marina on Thursday afternoon, hoping to catch a glimpse of the actors James Franco and Jonah Hill on the set of The True Story.
Filming was taking place near the lobby of the picturesque hotel, back by the docks overlooking the harbor.

Monday started as a picturesque day for former Commack resident Joanna Barouch, who was at the Boston Marathon to support a friend in the race.
They visited the scenic Boston Harbor the day before, went to the market and even spent time in the JFK Library. But the day of the marathon was a beautiful day that turned tragic in an instant.

7 Cars Smashed, Possibly Shot With Pellet Gun Monday

Hauppauge citizens on Monday night reported seven cars with smashed windows, with at least one report claiming vandals shot the car with a pellet gun, according to police. All of the incidents, logged on April 8, happened in the same general neighborhood.

Suffolk DA: Illegal Gun Ring Ran Through Long Island Hotels

A couple from Long Island and a man from Georgia have been arrested following what Suffolk law enforcement officials said was a gun-smuggling operation that ran through a gas station and hotels, including the Holiday Inn Express at Stony Brook, according to a report published Monday in Newsday.
