Shelter Animal of the Week

Meet Lana, a bull mastiff mix from the League for Animal Protection of Huntington.

As the holiday cheer settles in, think about spreading it around to an adoptable pet in need, such as Lana - a playful and affectionate three year old bull mastiff mix with deep brown eyes who is waiting to be adopted at the

Lana does well with humans and other dogs, but due to her strength, she would be best suited for a home with children over 12 years old.  According to shelter staff member Donna Monte, "she has no issues with food or sharing her toys with you although she does like to play 'keep away.'"   This pooch has never had any formal training, but would do well with a firm, loving teacher, as she has been proven to be a quick learner who is motivated by food and praise.  Thus far, she has learned "sit," and can walk well on a leash.

If you are interested in adopting Lana, you can contact the League for Animal Protection of Huntington at 631- 757 - 9373.
