Shelter Animal of the Week

This week, we feature Smithtown Animal Shelter, where Zorro is patiently waiting to be adopted by a loving family.

Zorro is a four year old Pit Bull mix who was found as a stray in April 2009.  A local jogger noticed the dog walking along the jogger's route, and Zorro continued to follow them for about five miles before the jogger called Smithtown Animal Shelter to pick up the friendly young stray.

His nondescript coloring and seemingly ordinary appearance has led to Zorro being frequently overlooked by shelter visitors, but given a second look, one will see that he is a very handsome dog.  He is dark brown with white patches on his nose and chest, beautiful brown eyes, and an athletic build.

Zorro is sweet and playful, and would require he be the only animal in your home.  According to the staff of Smithtown Animal Shelter who has had Zorro for over a year, Zorro is a calm and obedient boy, who would also make a great running companion.
