Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Abigail

Abigail is a mush of a pit bull who was found as a stray, but is affectionate and outgoing.

Abigail is a 2-year-old pit bull mix who was picked up as a stray and brought to the , where volunteers noticed that she must have come from a home where she socialized with people.

Abigail already knew how to sit and give paw, and she continues to learn more and more commands each day.

Abigail later moved into a foster home where she is waiting to be adopted into her forever home. At her foster home, Abigail lives with another dog who she gets along well with. She would do well with other dogs, as long as she is properly introduced to them. This pup loves energetic play, so it would be best for her to live with a dog that also has lots of energy. This girl is not too keen of cats, so she requires a dog-only home.

According to Abigail's foster mom, "Abigail is the best of both worlds: she's energetic and a blast to run and play ball with, but at night she's a cuddle pup who loves to curl up and watch a movie."

She adds, "[Abigail] never gives me a hard time, no matter if I ask her to go in her crate [or] drop a toy.  She even comes right away when she is called. "
