Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Dee Dee

Dee Dee was found wandering the streets of Hauppauge in mid-March before she was brought to Smithtown Animal Shelter.

Dee Dee is a young pit bull/basset hound mix who was picked up as a stray in north Hauppauge in mid-march.

As visible in her photograph, she is quite sad at the shelter without an owner to share her love with. She is hoping to have what may be her first opportunity to be part of a family who would take her for walks, run around a park or a yard with her, and give her a warm bed or blanket where she can sleep and feel safe at night.

Dee Dee does not get along well with cats or other dogs, so she would like to be the only pet in your home. She is also housetrained, spayed, and up-to-date with her routine shots.
