Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Dianna

Dianna is a playful young pit bull mix who is easy to care for and loves people.

Dianna spent the first two years of her life living comfortably with a family, but upon the birth of a new child, the family felt they would be unable to care for Dianna and brought her to the shelter. Now, the League for Animal Protection is looking to restore her to a loving home where she belongs.

Dianna is a three-and-a-half-year-old pit bull mix with a petite frame, weighing about forty pounds. She is a smart girl, and knows “sit” and is easily motivated to learn using treats. This pup also walks very well on a lead, so you can take her on your evening walks. She is gentle when taking treats, and is affectionate when one gets to know her.As is evident from her photographs, Dianna is very playful and loves toys. She can get mouthy when playing, so it is best that she is in a household with children over the age of 12. If you have other dogs, Dianna will likely get along with them when introduced properly. Overall, volunteers say that she is very "low-maintenance" and "move-in ready" for most homes.

Dianna is spayed and has had her rabies shot. According to her previous owner, she is housetrained.

She is wary about people standing near her cage door while she is kenneled at the shelter, so be sure to ask for her to be taken out before you meet her.
