Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Groucho

Stop by Smithtown Animal Shelter and meet a comical, young, longhaired cat named Groucho.

The beautiful domestic long-haired cat is not a typical sight in a shelter, as short-haired breeds most commonly fill these facilities—especially ones with dark coloring. This makes Groucho, a resident of , all the more unique.

Groucho is a neutered domestic long hair with black and white fur and markings that make it appear that he has a short black mustache like his namesake, the famous comedian Groucho Marx, and maybe even a little goatee too. He's only 10 months old, so he has plenty of years ahead of him to spend with you. Friendly and curious, Groucho will enjoy a home where he can investigate and befriend the human companions who he warms up to quickly.

Groucho gets along well with other cats, so he would be a fine addition to a home with another feline friend.
