Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Mayo

Mayo is a 6-year-old lab/shepherd mix who is obedient, calm and affectionate.

Mayo came to the by no fault of his own. In fact, his owners were expecting twins, and they felt that they had no more room for him.

Mayo is a 6-year-old lab/shepherd mix who is currently in a foster home, though his time there is limited because though he gets along with other dogs, his foster mom’s dog does not care for him. His foster mom cannot say enough good things about him.

Mayo is sweet and affectionate, and not at all destructive. He likes to go for car rides, and he walks well on a lead. Mayo has been trained well, and is obedient and has great manners, as he is good with his toys and does not attempt to steal food.

He would do well in a home without cats, and Mayo’s next owner should keep in mind that his hips are not in the best shape and will need to be monitored.

Mayo is housetrained, crate-trained, has had his rabies shot, and is neutered.
