Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Ollie

Ollie was rescued from a nightmare of abuse and neglect by the League for Animal Protection of Huntington, who is now trying to place him in a loving home.

Ollie is a pit bull who lived a sad life of four or five years in terrible conditions before being rescued by the .

He spent his time tied up with two other dogs in his former owner’s yard, and was never allowed inside even during the cold winter months. The other dogs did not fare as well as Ollie, who was eventually taken in by the LAP.

Though he was only skin and bones, volunteers found that Ollie had a great disposition. After taking him to the vet for what may have been the first time in his life, they learned that Ollie had heartworm and had to receive painful injections over a period of time where he had to remain quiet and sedate.

Help LAP of Huntington show Ollie what it is like to live a life without being cold, hungry, alone, scared, and sick.

As evidenced in his pictures, Ollie still bears the physical scars of his past life, and he deserves to lead a comfortable one.
