Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Tinker

Take home Tinker, a 3-year-old bulldog/bull terrier mix who is with the League for Animal Protection of Huntington.

This week’s shelter animal is a little dog with a big personality who comes from the League for Animal Protection of Huntington.

If a small, playful dog with a low-to-medium energy level is what you’re looking for, Tinker may be your boy.

Tinker is a 3-year-old English Bulldog and Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who is short, but muscular. He is not a big fan of toys, but loves to go for long walks and walks beautifully on a lead. Tinker enjoys having his head and chest scratched, and absolutely loves getting hugs and kisses from humans. This pup is happy with blankets to sleep on, and would make a great couch companion while watching the game.

Tinker would do best in a home with adults and older children, such as teenagers, as when he gets excited, he jumps up and could accidentally hit a person in the nose.  This is a habit that volunteers are working on helping him break. Luckily, he is a quick learner, and has already learned sit and leave it.

He also gets along with other dogs, but would prefer to be in a home without cats.

Tinker is neutered, housetrained, up-to-date with his routine shots, and has had his rabies shot.
