Suffolk Y JCC Names New Director

Adam Bendeson will take over the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Adam Bendeson of Smithtown was recently named Executive Director of the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center in Commack.

Bendeson previously served as Assistant Executive Director of the non-profit.  In his new capacity he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 24-acre campus, providing 25,000 locals with an array of educational and recreational programs and activities.

Another recent change in the Suffolk Y JCC is the addition of the Jewish Academy of Suffolk County to the Commack center. The Jewish Academy of Suffolk County in East Northport will move into the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center of Commack this September, the Suffolk Y JCC announced  in a press release last month.

Both parties said working under one roof would be beneficial to the families and members of the centers, by enabling members to benefit from the Jewish and educational resources the each organization has to offer.

“It is a natural next step for the JCC to continue to be viewed as the center of Jewish life in Suffolk County,” Bendeson said.
