Tulip Mania and Fun at Huntington Festivals

Families have fun in the sun at the annual Tulip and Sheep to Shawl Festivals.

Under a crisp blue sky and plenty of sunshine, kids took the opportunity to make pasta jewelry, fly kites, bang on drums and learn about seeds Sunday in Huntington.

The 13th annual Huntington Town Tulip Festival in Heckscher Park and the Sheep-to-Shawl Festival at the Dr. Daniel W. Kissam House Museum on Park Avenue drew families out to enjoy a variety of activities, food and music. At the Kissam house, kids gazed on llamas--and vice versa--and petted rabbits and sheep,  studied old-fashioned wooden toys or listened to a band play the poignant notes of Ashokan Farewell.

At the Tulip Festival, families could enjoy  music, join in a parade or check out the many crafts available to kids.
