Week in Review: New Policies, Columns and Ideas

A review for the fourth week of coverage in Commack.

We've reached the one month anniversary for Commack Patch and we'd like to thank you – our readers! You've helped us get to 114 friends on Facebook, helped us find story leads and let us into your community to cover the things that matter to you! 

This week we gave you some regular features along with some news, arts and restaurant reviews. We found out about some local staples and also tried to help you (once again) beat the heat. 

As we begin the final month of the summer (where did it go!) we'd like to thank you for your continued support and hope you keep giving us tips, and of course hope you keep reading! Enjoy!

Monday, we brought you our regular gas price feature, and we found out about the vacant property on Kings Park Road. 

Tuesday, we found out about the new principal at and started a new column – Cooking in Commack.

Wednesday, to be known as Wellness Wednesdays starting next week, we brought you some bed bug tips and a mid-week crime report. Wellness Wednesdays will feature a spa or other wellness business profile every other week, and perhaps a few surprises along the way. 

Thursday, we showed you some wacky Craig's List finds, explained the new findings on lice and gave you some tips about voting in elections this year. 

Friday, we found out about standardized score increases, students spoke out about the Math Honor Society and we gave you our weekly list of open houses in the area. 

Saturday, we told you about some foreclosure help to be provided by the Suffolk County Bar Association and showed you some local aces of cake decorating

And finally today, we kick back and relax with you with our week in review and our Sunday crime report, and perhaps one more feature to get you ready for Monday.
