Week in Review: Drunk Man Who Killed Cop Goes Free, Town Approves Hess Station

To commemorate the Girl Scouts of America's 100th Anniversary, a portion of Moreland Road in Commack will now be called Girl Scout Way. The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County unveiled the new street name at a special ceremony Wednesday at their Commack headquarters.

Commack will soon have antoerh Hess station and minimart. The Smithtown planing board approved a variance proposed by Hess, and the popular gas brand will set up shop at a space left vacant by a Hess station a little more than a year ago.

Patch reported two DWI arrests in Commack this week, one of which involved a child. , of Nesconset, was arrested near Vanderbilt Parkway and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child and endangering the welfare of a child. Weiss had his two-year-old son in the car with him.

Earlier in the week, state police arrested and charged him with speeding and driving while intoxicated. Suri was driving near the Commack Road exit of the Northern State.
