Week in Review: New Roof for Hoyt Farm Silo, Catfish Annie's Up for Sale

Eagle Scout Jeremy Wendt took on the daunting task of building a new roof and getting it on top of an 80-year-old, two-story-high silo. After Wendt's idea was approved by Scout leaders in May, he raised $1,000 with a pancake breakfast.

The fish market and restaurant, a Commack mainstay for 30 years, has been put up for sale by its owners for $350,000.

Black Friday couldn't come soon enough for some stores in Commack, so they decided to open up their doors to shoppers on Thanksgiving day, garnering some criticism from employees and customers.

Commack students collected gifts to send to children in need throughout the world this holiday season. They managed to gather enough items to fill 351 shoe boxes with toys, candy, school and art supplies and clothing. The boxes will be shipped to children ages 2 to 14 all over the world through the Samaritan’s Purse organization.
