Town Busts Commack Marijuana Farm
Smithtown Public Safety officers arrested a Kings Park man on Wednesday night for helping tend a marijuana plant farm inside a Commack water recharge basin. 

Mark Kern, 44, is charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the third degree, a felony charge, after undercover town officers found him tending to more than 100 marijuana plants off Vanderbuilt Motor Parkway and Redleaf Lane in Commack at 10:22 p.m., according to Public Safety's Deputy Chief Kevin McPadden. 

Former Commack Woman Pleads Guilty to Murdering Disabled Son
A former Commack resident admitted Thursday that she killed her disabled son by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife and striking him with a hammer, according to the Albany County district attorney. However, she can’t remember doing it. 

Commack Honors 9/11 Victims and Responders

Commack residents gathered Wednesday night to remember those killed in the Sept. 11 attacks.

The Commack School District hosted its annual 9-11 candlelight ceremony on the high school track, remembering and paying tribute to those who were killed on Sept. 11, 2001.
