Savers Opens in Commack

Savers celebrated its grand opening Thursday at its newest Long Island location at 755 Larkfield Road in Commack.

The store is the third on Long Island. The thrift shop has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, in which it pays the nonprofit for every donation made through the Community Donation Center at the store. 

Commack Woman Wakes to House in Flames

A Commack woman woke up this morning to find her home in flames.

The homeowner was awoken by the smell of smoke and then saw the blaze coming from her basement around 7:30 a.m.

Driver Crashes into Y JCC in Commack
A driver crashed into the Suffolk Y JCC in Commack Tuesday morning, leaving a hole in the brick siding.

According to Suffolk County police, a woman was driving a Toyota Camry was she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and drove her vehicle straight into the occupied building at approximately 9:40 a.m.

Search Still On for Second Pot Grower
Smithtown officials are still on the hunt for a second suspect accused of helping tend to a marijuana farm discovered in Commack. 

Among the evidence was roughly 100 - 200 marijuana plants, averaging in height between 7 to 8 feet tall.
