Weekend Planner: Commack Ambulance 5K, Summer Concerts

Join members of the Commack Volunteer Ambulance at on Saturday for their first annual 5K walk/run to raise money for the department. Day of registration begins at 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., with race starting promptly at 9 a.m. Cost is $25. Prizes will be awardsed to the top three male and female finishers in various age groups. 

Enjoy fun and educational programs held for children ages 5 and up at Caleb Smith State Park. This week, "Not all Ladybugs are Ladies" on Saturday. Reservations required, call 631-265-1054. Cost is $4 adults, $3 children. 

Catch the sounds of Billy Joel at Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve at 7 p.m. Sunday Don't forget to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

Tickets are $15 for a live theater performance of this very funny modern version of the classic children's tale of Rapunzel. Show times are at 11 a.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Get farm fresh vegetables from local growers at: Saturday 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Main Street, or , from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sundays the municipal lot on Main Street.
