Chinese Auction for Childhood Cancer
Join Give Kids Hope Inc. for a Chinese auction featuring holiday gifts on Dec. 14, 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Smithtown. Admission is $5 and all proceeds go to providing special care packages to children receiving treatments this holiday season. 

A Charlie Brown Christmas
SoLuna Studios in nearby Hauppauge presents their production of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" bringing your favorite Peanuts characters to life  at 3:30 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. Sundays through December. Tickets are $20 per person.

Make a Fresh Holiday Wreath
Using an assortment of fresh greenery and natural materials, create a wreath for your holiday door or wall. Caleb Smith Park, Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Unity in the Commack Community
Commack students and faculty will come together this Saturday to raise funds for fellow Long Islanders who were devastated by Hurricane Sandy on Saturday, 7 p.m. at Commack High School. A show will feature brief skits, performances and more. The suggested donation is $5 per person with a silent auction to raise additional funds. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.
