Weekend Planner: Fire Safety Event, Summer Concerts Kickoff

Check out these events happening on June 29 - July 1 in or near Commack.

 


The Kerry Rose Foundation invites local residents to the first Community Fire Safety event at Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. There will be demonstration on fire safety, food, and live musical entertainment. 


Listen to live music at Russ Savatt Park off Kings Park's Main Street, near Ralph's Italian Ices, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. One June 30, the Tango Lovers of Long Island will give free dancing lessons to help get you on your feet.

Winelovers have the opportunity to meet Miquel Martin, a winemaker from Palmer vineyards, at Long Island Wines & Spirit Merchant on Saturday from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. He will lead a tasting of various Palmer Wines.  

The Bluegrass Club of Long Island hosts a bluegrass jam on the first Sunday of every month at the Smithtown Brush Barn, the jam starts at 2 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m.

This summer concert series kicks off Sunday at Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve with The Great American Classic Rock Show at 7 p.m.. The show is free. Bring chairs, picnic dinners and enjoy the show.
