Furniture, Sound Equipment Approved for Smithtown-Commack Library

The Smithtown Library board voted to purchase all the equipment necessary to have the Commack branch up and running as of the early Dec.

The Smithtown Special Library District unanimously voted to spend $255,000 on furniture and $105,000 on a new telecommunications system for the Commack branch at Tuesday's board meeting.

Tracy Hansen, architect, selected the furniture and the price is within the originally appropriated budget.

The new telecommunications system is being supplied by DJJ technologies and the carrier service will be a separate bill, determined at some point in the future.

Windows will be delivered to the construction site two weeks from Friday to be installed. Construction was slowed due to the past week of rain, but the board said it is now on schedule.
