Sophomore Advances to Talent Show Semifinals

Samantha Sclafani earns enough votes to move on in MSG Varsity competition.

Samantha Sclafani has advanced to the second round in MSG Varsity's Talent Show.

Sclafani, a sophomore at Commack High School, earned enough votes from the public to defeat Conetquott's Alexa Sheryll. She now moves on to the semifinals, where she will compete for the chance to record a demo in a professional recording studio, among other prizes.

No word yet on what she'll sing next.

Sclafani will find out who her competition is following the episode on Sunday, May 8, after all eight female vocalists in the competition have performed and the audience has had the chance to vote.
