A Grecian, Gluten-Free Dream at Commack's Greek Village

A gluten-free diet doesn't have to be a diet at all at Greek Village in Commack.

The local eatery boasts a menu of more than 50 gluten-free items including pitas, pizza moussaka, souvlaki platters, chicken gyros and more.

Owner Marino Frangomihalos said that the previous owners of the restaurant brought in the gluten-free menu about four years ago and it has been a hit ever since.

Tracy Bruno, who works at Greek Village said that she serves about 10 tables a day with customers that ask for the gluten-free menu.

"We have a lot of families that come in for the gluten-free food, and a lot of returning customers," she said.

The "pitzas," which are made on a 10-inch pita, are the best selling item on the gluten-free menu. They come in four varieties including spinach and feta, vegetable, melted mozzarella and chicken.

Greek Village is located at 44 Veterans Hwy. and can be reached at 631-499-6590.
