Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza Donating Grand Opening Sales to Autism Causes

Proceeds will support quality of life studies, treatment, and outreach programs for children and teens with developmental disabilities.

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in Commack will hold a Grand Opening Celebration April 10, in which all of its sales will go to the Dan Marino Foundation, which supports quality of life research, treatment, and outreach programs for children with autism and developmental disabilities.

NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, who established the foundation with his wife in 1992, is a partner in the restaurant chain, known for its use of coal-burning ovens to create “well done” pizzas.

The 6401 Jericho Turnpike location, which opened to customers on Feb. 27, is the fourth of the Florida-based chain in Long Island. Two more locations in Greenvale and Bohemia are set to open later this year.

“The response to our newest restaurant has been phenomenal,” Anthony Bruno, a Long Island native and founder/CEO of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, said. “We’re proud to dedicate an entire day to spreading the word about autism awareness and financially supporting the Dan Marino Foundation.”

The Dan Marino Foundation has raised more than $40 million since its inception, which has been used to fund quality-of-life research, build the Miami Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Center, and the Marino Campus, which will open next year.
