Chocolate Works, which recently opened at the Peppertree Commons in Northport is celebrating its grand opening next weekend.
A special event for adults (ages 21 and older) will be held Oct. 5 from 7-10 p.m. Live jazz music will play as guests enjoy wine and chocolate pairings. Wine is provided by The Wine Shack.
An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Oct. 6. Kids of all ages are welcome to come down to the store and meet the giant Jelly Belly, who will be handing our jelly beans. Families will be able to explore the store and try out the chocolate confections from noon to 4 p.m. The store will host a chocolate-decorating class where kids can craft their own treats to take home every half hour.
It’s the immediate customer delight that owner Rhonda Daniels, who runs the business with her husband, Chris, said she enjoys the most.
“It makes people happy. It’s the kind of simple pleasure that gives instant gratification, and it’s the kind of business where people are really coming in to indulge,” she said. “I just wanted it to be a place that brought a little joy to people’s lives.”
The store had a soft opening last week and has been seeing a steady flow of foot traffic since.
“I think it’s doing so well because there’s really nothing like this store in the area,” Daniels said.
