Ciao Baby Reinvents Itself with Lounge Baby

Neighborhood establishment changes face, keeps business booming.

, a Commack mainstay, reinvented themselves this week with the debut of Lounge Baby, in which the restaraunt transforms into a nightclub of sorts.

While many eateries open and close rather quickly, this establishment is able to keep patrons interested by changing with the times.

Ciao Baby has maintained success with their prixe-fixe family style dining: a select menu includeing an appetizer, entrée and dessert for 29.95 per person. The huge portions probably don't hurt in convincing diners to come back, either.

The newest face of Ciao Baby shows itself on Wednesdays.  The “Wine Watch” tasting is available for $10 when you sit for dinner.  You can sample any or all of the designated wines with your meal.

As the dinner crowd starts to depart, a club vibe descends. This familiar locale gets a late-night facelift, fully outfitted with colorfully lit cocktail tables and Grey Goose bottle service. And of course, more food.

Ciao Baby offers “baby plates” for this event. These tapas-style dishes are priced from $6 to $14 and include many highlights from the original menu such as rice balls (mini versions of their beloved, gargantuan cousin) and a still generous plate of gemelli con salsiccia. One can easily make a meal with a few selections. A DJ spins and those who want to work off the pasta have free reign in the center of the restaurant which also serves as the dance floor.

Lounge Baby held its official opening on May 25, and is continuing throughout the summer.
