Come Party With Us Puts a Personal Touch on Parties

Come Party With Us in Commack helps residents find creative ways to invite  family and friends to a memorable event, stirring excitement for what's to come. 

Owner Barbara Rosen has been making custom invitations and planning personal details that make for an unforgettable celebration for more than 30 years. She's helped plan baby showers, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, weddings and more. 

" I love to throw parties and I love to entertain," she said. 

Rosen joined with a partner to create Come Party with Us, a Huntington Main Street storefront that moved to Great Neck. Since her partner's retirement, Rosen has continued to serve clients looking to build excitement for their upcoming event out of her Commack home. 

One of the first steps is to create an invitation that gives guests the feel for an event - whether it's fun loving or elegant. 

"When you receive an invitation, it’s the beginning of something exciting. If it’s a boring piece of paper in the mail, I believe that’s how people psychologically feel about where they are going," Rosen said. 

Come Party with us offers a variety of invitations from elegant letterpress and embossing, to bold colorful design that can be printed on paper, plastic tiles or any other object a client could think of. Rosen has gone as far as printing invitations on a miniature basketballs. 

In recent years, Rosen said she has seen invitations scale back due to the recession and an uptick in do-it-yourselfers who attempting to assemble their own invites which has impacted her business.

"People are buying invitations online and I still do not understand that. I give so much time and spend it on little details, I can’t imagine someone going on line, ordering something and just having it sent," she said. 

As a full-scale event planner, Rosen said her talent comes in being able to coordinate personalized details throughout an event from the invites to ordering customized items to decorate. She's worked for years to build connections with other vendors and work within a budget. 

"In event planning, the most important thing is client are hiring you. The idea is to take any aggravation away from the, and we absorb all of that and do what we need to do," Rosen said. "You are only as good as the last party you planned."
