The salon owner said her own sister-in-law battled breast cancer, having a strong impact on her own life. She's also had a number of clients who have fought or battled cancer sit down her chair for a haircut or styling.

The fund raising event will have $20 for wet hair cuts, $30 for hair cut and styles. Appointments can be made by calling 631-499-8199 but walk-ins are welcome. There will also be donated food, music and raffle off gift baskets donated by other local businesses including neighbor Hand & Stone Massage.

Barbara Ross Salon started its fund raising mission earlier this month by offering pink hair extensions for hope at $10 a piece. All proceeds from the hair extensions will also be donated.
