Edward Alan has been located in the Mayfair Shopping Center, serving men in need of larger clothing sizes, for more than 20 years. Schlosser said he just renegotiated his contract with the shopping center's landlord to renew for another 10 years.

"The store was very nice as it was, but if we have another 10 years it was time to spruce it up," he said.

Edward Alan began renovating its space three weeks ago, but construction hit a tipping point that cause the store to temporarily move into the old Talbot's storefront. Schlosser said the store should be back at its normal space within a week, but said fulll renovations won't be complete until mid-May.

With the new layout and increased space, Schlosser said he plans to start carrying more merchandise including a "value-priced' line of clothing that's more affordable for customers, given the current economy.

"In this economy, we need to address more popular price points for our clients. We are trying to expand our offerings for shoppers," the president said.

He expects to host a grand opening for the newly renovated Edward Alan in mid- to late-May.
