Five Guys Burgers and Fries is coming to Commack.

Molly Catalano, director of communications and public relations for Five Guys, confirmed in an email Friday morning that the wildly popular fast food joint will be touching down in Commack this fall, with a tentative opening date in late September or early October.

Catalano said the restaurant will employ approximately 35 people.

According to the Five Guys website, the new store will be located at 6546 Jericho Turnpike, the in the Commack Corners Shopping Center. A call to the property management company for Commack Corners was not returned.

With locations in Hauppauge, Deer Park and Huntington, Five Guys is known for making lunch or dinner decisions relatively easy, offering only hamburgers, hot dogs and two kinds of sandwiches (veggie and grilled cheese), along with heaping servings of regular and Cajun-spiced fries. The most difficult choice to be made at a Five Guys restaurant is not which meal to order, but how to dress it up, with 15 toppings available in any quantity and combination for no extra charge.

The eatery also offers free peanuts in containers placed strategically around each store – perfect for those customers seeking something to quiet their growling stomachs while their orders are freshly prepared.

Five Guys debuted its first store in Arlington, Virginia in 1986, and over the next 15 years opened several additional locations within the DC metropolitan area. 

Since 2003 Five Guys has expanded to more than 750 locations throughout the US and Canada, including nearly a dozen on Long Island.
