North Shore Farms Opens in Commack Friday

Following a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday night, North Shore Farms will open for business in Commack Friday morning.

The family-owned market located at 40 Vanderbilt Parkway at the former Waldbaum's site becomes the fifth North Shore Farms store on Long Island, and the first in Suffolk County.

In an earlier interview with Patch, George Tsiatis, a spokesperson for North Shore Farms, said the Commack store will feature an extensive deli department, prepared foods, a cheese and olive section with more than 600 varieties of cheese, an on-site bakery for fresh baked goods and freshly-rolled sushi.

The store will open at 9 a.m. Friday. The normal hours of operation for all of the North Shore Farms stores is 7 a.m.- 10 p.m.

Friday's grand opening will include giveaways, door prizes, cooking demonstrations and more. The celebration will continue into the weekend with more giveaways and appearances by local DJs.
