Orangetheory Fitness, a new exercise studio in East Northport, is opening its doors to customers who want to try out the exercise program before the gym officially opens.
Those curious to try Orangetheory can stop in the studio, located at 4000 Jericho Tpke. and sign up for a complementary workout through the grand opening on March 9. Special pre-opening membership rates are also on the table until then.
Described as a group personal training workout, Orangetheory launched in Florida two years ago and has since expanded to Arizona and Colorado. The East Northport location marks the franchise's New York debut.
In conjuction with the grand opening, Orangetheory Fitness will also launch its first 6 Week Weight Loss Challenge, which comes with a grand prizeof $2,500 and other goodies. The weight loss challenges are a hit among new members.

The program's 60-minute group personal training workout is broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training. Each participant’s individual heart-rate is monitored throughout the session, which is designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy. Trainers work with participants to reach individual goals.
