Plum Crazy Vacancy to Soon Be Filled By Italian Eatery

Italian eatery and marketplace Bella Cucina is expected to open later this week.

The space left vacant by Plum Crazy will soon be filled by a new Italian-American eatery and marketplace.

Bella Cucina will be the latest edition to the Kings Park dining scene and is slated to open late this week at the 95 Pulaski Road location, according to owners Anthony Barucci and Tom Lowder.

“Basically we have everything in place,” said Barucci, who said the main focus is pizza, Italian style food and delivery.

“We will have hot steam tables for lunch and deli sandwiches, soups,” said Barucci. Patrons can eat in or take out.

Barucci, who grew up in Commack, had a venue in the Mayfair Shopping Plaza for 10 years and another in Shirley. With both businesses now sold, his main focus will be Bella Cucina.

Patrons will still find specialty groceries and the décor will largely remain the same.

It’s the food that Barucci said will be the change.

“Once they taste the food, they will be back.”

If you need a great supermarket or fruit and vegetable market, just head down Pulaski to Pat's Marketplace (in the shopping center, corner of Larkfield & Pulaski). A friend turned me on to it, I never even knew it was there! It's a great find! Great prices, great service, and you're in and out rather quickly! The road work on Pulaski is a bit of a pain, but its worth the trip in my opinion--I absolutely HATE Keyfood!!!
