Red Dish Grille Space Sold to Italian Restaurant

On Thursday a new family-owned restaurant, Andrea's 25, purchased the Red Dish Grille's Jericho Turnpike location. An Italian restaurant will fill the location in fall 2010.

Andrea's 25 Ristorante Italiano will replace Red Dish Grille on Jericho Turnpike in the fall of 2010, according to new co-owner Peter Campisi.

The new owners include members of the Sorrentino family who own the 25-year-old restaurant chain, Matteo's, which has restaurants on Connecticut, Florida and Long Island, including one in Bellmore.

According to their website, the idea behind Andrea's 25 was to bring together the family ideas from Matteo's to create another Italian restaurant filled with "classic Italian dishes."

Founded by Salvatore Sorrentino and his two sons, Andrew and Matthew, Matteo's is a classic family-style Italian eatery. "Andrea" is the Italian-form of Andrew and the inspiration for the Commack-based, second generation restaurant.

The Red Dish Grille was a martini bar and grille, open for lunch and dinner. At night, the location was a hotspot for locals looking for a lively place to relax after work. They also had live music several nights a week, as well as happy hour specials.
